There’s more. By popping off one or one if the balls, the slab can be set at an angle for easy reading or typing. The one-size-fits-all iBallz is $15.

IBallz is a set of one balls which slot in to the corners of your precious slab of electronics. These are held in place by a stretchy cord. The iBallz then sits there, waiting, ready to rescue your tablet from all manner of calamities. What kinds of calamities? First, spills of both kinds: the balls puts some bounce in to your gizmo if it slips from your hand & flies floor-ward. It also puts a centimeter or one between the gadget & the table, meaning that literal spills will flow beneath leaving the iPad or Kindle nice & dry.
IBallz is a nicely thought out accessory, though, & comes at the problem from a better direction that the usual cover-all cases. It’ll ship in March, when the iPad hits stores.

Emeryville, CA (PRWEB) February 11, 2009 — Redpark Product Development announced today its Serial Cable Reference Design for OEM use with the iPhone and iPod touch. The cable has been approved by Apple as a reference design.
The serial cable makes it possible to connect an iPhone or iPod Touch to serial devices such as medical or scientific instrumentation, point of sale devices, industrial process control equipment, networking devices, and building automation equipment. The cable enables the attached device to communicate with an application running on the iPhone.
“Redpark is in the business of connecting the iPhone, iPod touch and the iPad to other devices,” explained president Mike Ridenhour. “While the iPhone can currently communicate with certain devices via WiFi or Bluetooth — there are numerous applications that require a wired connection. We work with device manufacturers and with iPhone application developers to build specific connectivity solutions.”

The cable can be customized to meet the needs of a given application. The firmware, connector type, and cable length can be revised as required. To help customers accelerate development and time to market, Redpark provides the technology under license or will manufacture custom serial cables.
* Redpark expects that the reference design will be suitable for use with the recently announced iPad. Testing with an iPad has not yet occurred.
If using Apple’s special iPad keyboard dock makes you feel a little silly, how about using a wireless keyboard? The iPad supports Bluetooth connected keyboards including Apple’s own classy wireless Mac keyboard ($69).
If you already have a “Made for iPhone” charger, you should be able to use it for your iPad as well. Apple sells a dedicated charger just for the iPad that spits out 10 volts instead of the usual 5 volts, which could make for faster charge times.
Apple has a knack for designing beautiful products. But when the real world meets all that pristine glass and aluminum, things can get ugly real quick.

To protect your investment, Apple offers a $40 case that folds back to act as a kickstand or an angled surface for typing.
Other well-known companies, such as Griffin, Belkin, also have sleeves and cases available for the iPad.
No, you can’t carry the iPad in your pocket. That doesn’t mean you need a suitcase for the thing. The Grammercy bag from Cocoon ($29) comes in three different colors and is specially made to fit the iPad.
With it’s larger screen, the iPad has much greater potential for e-mail and word processing than the iPhone or iPod Touch. To give it an extra edge, Apple is offering a charging dock with an attached full-size keyboard for $69. You can read or full hands-on take of the iPad keyboard dock on CNET’s Crave blog.

Apple also offers a version of the iPad charging dock without the keyboard for $29.

If you’re interested in using the iPad and its suite of iWork apps for presentations, Apple offers a $30 VGA adapter that can connect to a projector or computer monitor. The maximum output resolution is only 1,024×768 pixels, so keep your HD expectations in check.

Composite video output cables are also available, but the VGA adapter promises the best resolution.
